    Privacy Policy

    Melbourne Midwifery Specialist Services Pty Ltd (MMSS) provides a “Breastfeeding Consultation/s” service.  MMSS respects and upholds your rights to privacy protection pursuant to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988, being legislation of the Commonwealth of Australia.  Schedule 3, and section 14 of the Privacy Act
    1988 sets out the National Privacy Principles (NPP), and Information Privacy Principles (IPP), respectively, which govern collection, use, disclosure and recording
    of personal information provided by you.


    Professional Consultation and Consent


    When you register for a professional consultation, and with your consent, consultation information is written into an electronic professional client record format.  During the Consultation your information is recorded via a questionnaire during a confidential telephone call, during on-line conferencing using Skype, or during
    a personal face-to-face consultation.  Some information given by you may be used for statistical analysis of our service provision and outcomes.  You may provide information by way of images, film or photographs.   We require your written signed consent to use the material provided.  History Questionnaires and Consent

    Professional Consultation attracts a fee payable by you.

    Personal Information

    Personal Information is not Professional Consultation and Consent information.  Personal Information is any information received by MMSS that can be used
    to identify you.  It may be collected when you enter the website and includes:  name, email address, telephone number, date of birth and postal address.  Personal Information may be used pursuant to the Information Privacy Principles laid down in s14 Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 


    Personal information may be collected through the website as follows:

    ·         If you voluntarily register for on-line consultations (telephone or video).
    ·         If you Join any Breastfeeding Forums.
    ·         When you access Customer Service to place orders.
    ·         When you participate in Website promotional and market research activities.

    Personal information collected on the MMSS Website assists us to better respond to your individual needs, improve our website service, and more effectively
    respond to your customer service requests and support needs.


    Information provided by you is not disclosed to any other party, without your consent, other than information required by way of Statutory requirements
    authorised by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).


    MMSS ensures that your records are protected, by such security safeguards as is reasonable in the circumstances to take, against loss, against unauthorised
    access, use, modification of disclosure, and against other misuse, and;  that if it is necessary for the record to be given to a person in connection with the
    provision of a service to MMSS,  or delivery of a product to you, everything reasonably within the power of MMSS is done to prevent unauthorised use or
    disclosure of information contained in your record.  These measures include, but are not limited to, computer access passwords, firewalls, secure server,
    secure document storage, and provision of appropriate personnel policies and guidelines.


    You are under no obligation to provide personal information.  However there are some features of our website that require you to register e.g. Breastfeeding consultations, group activities or product purchases.  When you register you are deemed to have provided your information voluntarily and knowingly.

    Your information can be used for Consumer Promotions and Market Research. Alternately, you may choose not to participate.  See Consumer Promotions and
    Market Research paragraphs below.


    If your personal information alters, or you no longer wish MMSS to keep your personal information on file, we will correct, update or remove your records
    at your written request.  Should you consider MMSS is holding inaccurate, out-of-date, or incomplete information, you may ask for corrections.

    Information collected through Customer Service

    MMSS use the details provided by you to our Customer Service, to return information, and to provide services and products requested by you.  MMSS may send information, a return letter, email, or telephone call in relation to your enquiry, purchase or complaint.  MMSS uses the information you provide, to monitor complaints concerning a product or service, and for quality control purposes.

    Information collected through Consumer Promotions and Market Research

    MMSS uses the personal information which consumers supply via online promotions, survey forms, and questionnaires, to evaluate the services provided, or
    for providing incentives, prizes, samples, and other promotional products, information and services relevant to breastfeeding.  Any personal information you
    provide may be entered into a database and recorded in hardcopy.  Your information may be used for future promotional, marketing, market research, product development and publicity purposes. 


    You may prevent use of your personal information by not participating in such promotions, surveys and questionnaires.  If you have participated, you may
    withdraw at any time.


    MMSS imposes obligations on any external organisations with which we share your personal information, to maintain the integrity and security of that
    information.


    Internet Security – Cookies & Links

    Cookies technology on our website tells us when you log in, whether you have visited us before, or whether you are a new visitor.  The cookie does not obtain any personal information or provide us with any means of contacting you.  The cookie does not provide information from your computer.

    MMSS uses cookie information to help identify website features of interest to you, compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can
    offer better site experiences and tools in the future.


    If you prefer, you can ask your computer to warn you when a cookie is being sent, or you can turn off all cookies via your browser settings.  If you turn off your
    cookies some of our services may not function properly.


    What if our Privacy Policy changes?

    Note:  MMSS uses information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), under which the information was collected.  Changes may be made to the NPP by
    the Privacy Commissioner pursuant to s95A(1) Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). 


    Any changes to the Privacy Policy of MMSS will be available on the website.
