Group gatherings can be arranged for women who prefer to be with other breastfeeding women. There is much to learn from feeding side by side and sharing information. For those who are interested Group Bookings of six women and babies or up to 10 can be arranged, please call 0419 315 958.     

Consultations are generally made around the baby's natural feeding time and they can be achieved in different ways depending on individual requirements, distance, and local or international times. Generally the way in which a consultation occurs is first by referral from yourself or another person. During a consultation my aim is to help build on your confidence and encourage your innate maternal skills. Most consultations are face-to-face in the woman's home. Increasingly more women nationally and internationally are seeking consultation via Skype Video. Some women prefer to participate in a small group.  

Under the Privacy Act any information you provide for your client record is confidential. You have the right not to answer questions, or you may in writing make a specific request to change information. Your ‘client record’ will be stored securely and will not be passed on to any third party. You may be asked if your de-identified (coded) data can be used for analysis, research and publication purposes. Please read the Privacy Policy

I may seek your consent for a student, new graduate, or midwife to participate. Your informed consent is important, I must seek your permission and will ask you to complete a consent form for a breastfeeding consultation in keeping with the Australian Privacy Act

Please make an advanced appointment, once this is confirmed, it is important for us to complete as much of your client record as possible. This is generally done by telephone, Skype prior to or during your face-to-face appointment. It is preferable to see you and your baby during a full breastfeed either face-to-face or via Skype Video. After the completion of your appointment and client record we pre-arrange a breastfeeding consultation. A consultation is arranged in harmony with your baby's natural waking and feeding time. It is important to observe a full breastfeed so I will ask that you try not to feed your baby prior to the consultation. For home visiting the appointment is best made to allow enough time for me to travel. A consultation may take up to 2 hours plus travelling time, occasionally more. 

That way all aspects of your individual circumstances for feeding from technique, to body language and infant communication skills, digestion, apparatus used, signs of satisfaction and more are considered. Small group sessions planned in advance can be held at an agreed venue, these sessions may continue over two breastfeeds (approximately 6-7 hours) and students may participate.
